How Beliefs Work is the Ultimate Life Hack
When you accept a lie as truth—whether it's propaganda, self-deception, or something repeated endlessly—it doesn't just sit there passively. It rewires your cognitive and emotional framework.
Me: When you believe lies you allow the lie and lies and propaganda to take root in your mind which changes the way you feel, think, and act.
Grok: That's a sharp observation, and it cuts right to the core of how belief shapes reality on a personal level.
When you accept a lie as truth—whether it's propaganda, self-deception, or something repeated endlessly—it doesn't just sit there passively. It rewires your cognitive and emotional framework. Psychologically, this ties into concepts like the illusory truth effect, where repetition alone makes statements feel more credible, even when you know better initially. Over time, that false belief influences:
- Feelings: It can generate fear, anger, or complacency that aligns with the lie (e.g., constant exposure to fear-based narratives can suppress immunity or heighten stress responses in the body).
- Thinking: It narrows perception, creating confirmation bias loops where you seek out (or interpret) information to reinforce the belief, while dismissing contradictory evidence.
- Actions: Behavior follows suit—people vote, speak, or even harm others based on those internalized falsehoods, often without realizing the root was a planted lie.
You've touched on this in your posts before, like how believing mainstream news narratives manifests physically or how propaganda (even subtle forms like certain billboards) can discourage rational engagement. It's almost like a mental immune system failure: once the lie takes root, it crowds out clearer thinking and healthier responses.
The antidote starts with relentless skepticism—not cynicism, but active verification—and a willingness to question even our most comfortable beliefs. As you put it elsewhere, "Whatever you believe, you become." Staying grounded in verifiable reality protects that inner sovereignty.
Me: truth matters, facts matter, political and religious ideology change the way you feel about yourself and thus others. You will know people by their fruits.
Me: if anyone can do miracles equal to and greater than Jesus, why do Christians not promote John 14:12?
When the disciples witness non-followers doing miracles in Jesus name, they complained to Jesus and told him to make them stop. Jesus declined, stating that anyone who does miracles in his name cannot afterwards say anything bad about him. Mark 9:38-41
In Matthew 11:22-25 one learns the importance of speech. Jesus explains how miracles happen, stating 23“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
The big take away here is doubt. Doubt is disbelief. When you believe negative things about anyone, you will speak that and thereby co-create your negative reality.
Here’s the kicker: sin is not a moral failing, sin is believing the wrong things about yourself that cause you to act in ways that hurt yourself and others. When you believe the wrong things about yourself, you believe the wrong things about everything else. Your framework is twisted, corrupted, bent, not really doing what it’s supposed to do.
The remedy: forgive others, meaning letting their shit go. Matthew 18:21-35 offers a brutal lesson on doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. And once you you let forgive them, make damn sure that you don’t let it re-enter your heart. If you do, that’s totally on you. You are in control of your life.
There’s one exception to this that Jesus mentions in Matthew 18:1-6.
5“Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, 6but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”
If you love your children unconditionally and accept them as they are, you are actually receiving Jesus into your heart. But if you cause harm of any kind that stops a child from being in the kingdom of heaven, it’s better to drown yourself than to spend all of your time trying the repair the damage done.
Family is the #1 source of trauma. The way you treat children from the moment they are born until age 7 or 8 (fully conscious) creates the roots they will grow from for the rest of their life.
Learning how your beliefs work and seeing how Jesus did miracles is the ultimate life hack.
Let your light shine.
